Phase 2 Modding (Custom Assets)
From Shards Online Wiki
Custom Assets[edit | edit source]
- Whereas a Ruleset is only scratching the surface of modding and quite easy to handle "ingame" or via "web-interface" for Cluster-Admins, Custom Assets go a bit deeper and allow huge possibilities to change almost everything.
- All use the programming language Lua to communicate with the game-client (like some other big MMOrpgs out there)
- Changes can range from simple modifications to the UI to massive changes in Combat/AI/WorldObjects/..
- One could literally change the whole game: futuristic, steampunk or dinosaur setting? No problem. Editing landscapes, buildings, trees, animals.. whatever you want.
